November Update (Juneau Alaska)

Updates:

The Arts Tour the last two weekends were a success. Thank you to all that came out and participated. We got a lot of traffic.

Come in and see the new inventory by Sarah Riffey, Avalon Folmsbee and Laura Hunter. There are only 3 Mouth Bows left. ($20.00 each). Get them before they are gone.

Events/Activities:

Stop past and make a piece for the community quilt now until March. It is completely free and we already have all the supplies you will need here. The theme of the quilt is “What do I love most about my community.” When the quilt is finished in March, a group of school children, college students, older adults and others will work with the folk music group Magpie to create a song that captures the essence of the images. Contact One Vision/Many Voices for more information.

Crafting with Friends will be meeting at MCTA starting in November! Come join us for good company, inspiration & skill sharing by those who knit, crochet, or perform other hand arts (If you can toss your craft into a tote your welcome to this event). Dates are: Nov. 13, 27, Dec. 11 at 7:00 PM. Email raquelketterman@verizon.net for more information.

Sarah Riffey will be doing a workshop soon. We will keep you all posted on all workshops and events.

New Artist Info:

Please stop in to look at our newest Artist's work; Juneau Alaska. She is a native of Maryland, who fell in love with Western Maryland eight years ago after backpacking in Greenridge State Forest. She was taught jewelry wrapping from a native and loved it! She is also an avid hiker and collects cool looking rocks. Juneau turns the rocks from her many hiking trips to something beautiful. She has necklaces from $10.00-$25.00 currently.
