Who We Are

Mountain City Traditional Arts is dedicated to the education, sales, documentation and perpetuation of the traditional arts in the Mountain Maryland region. Located in Downtown Frostburg's Arts & Entertainment District, Mountain City Traditional Arts features a diverse display of local artwork, hand-crafted items, and Appalachian-based products. A small stage in the back of the venue is used periodically for live music, presentations, and small performances. Mountain City Traditional Arts also hosts a variety of classes and workshops that showcase traditional art forms and help to preserve the unique heritage of the Appalachian mountain region.
Mountain City Traditional Arts is a program of Frostburg State University, receiving support from the Allegany Arts Council, Folklore & Folklife Programming at Frostburg State University, FrostburgFirst: A Main Street Community, the Appalachian Regional Commission, the FSU Foundation and the Maryland Traditions Program of the Maryland State Arts Council.  The venue is staffed entirely by FSU students and is open Tuesday – Sunday.
